Meta Partnered with DSG Consulting to Design and Launch a Scalable STEM Outreach Program
TechPrep by Meta is an innovative initiative designed to expand access to computer programming and technology careers, creating pathways for students from historically underrepresented communities to explore and succeed in STEM.
The Challenge
DSG Consulting cultivated targeted partnerships with key individuals and organizations, offering a custom curriculum that could either be embedded in current programs or act as a stand-alone, depending on audience and event-hosting needs. Furthermore, DSG Consulting managed the outreach process from creation to implementation and provided Culture and Leadership Development support to partners and the TechPrep team.
The Approach
DSG Consulting conducted an initial assessment to inform program strategy and ensure alignment with Meta’s broader goals. This included analyzing data and existing efforts to identify where outreach could be most effective and how to structure the program for scale.
From there, DSG supported the design and execution of the TechPrep program, overseeing its development from concept through delivery. This included building strategic partnerships to develop a flexible curriculum that could be adapted across different learning environments, as well as defining how the program would engage students, families, and community stakeholders.
The Results
The program established a scalable foundation for expanding access to STEM education, engaging students and families in communities with limited exposure to technology careers. By centralizing resources and creating a more structured outreach model, the initiative improved visibility and accessibility of STEM pathways.
These efforts helped strengthen early interest and participation in technology-focused learning, positioning the program for continued growth and broader reach over time.
“Diversity is central to Facebook’s mission of creating a more open and connected world – both because it’s the right thing to do and because it’s good for our product and business. Cognitive diversity matters because bringing together people of different characteristics enables us to build better products that serve nearly 1.5 billion people around the world.”
